Christmas boxes done, bazaars finished, fundraising ended for 2014. We have indeed had a very blessed year. Our greetings and love to everyone who has supported us and everyone we have helped.
We have lived and worked in China for seven years now. Our objective is to bring love to those in need, by caring and giving in practical ways as needs come to our attention. Many in China still live in poverty conditions. Small villages in the interior have no real plumbing or other taken-for-granted needs. Some orphanages in China are desperate for many of the basic needs such as clothing, medical and dental care, education needs, as well as the toys and things children need to have better quality of life. Students who are required to pay for their education past Grade 6 cannot afford the education.
We visit orphanages with all we can bring, sponsor students to go to school, bring a doctor or dentist care to isolated places, volunteer where we are needed and bring together people who can help with those in need.

We are proud to say that our director, Jenine Basaraba, was asked to be a judge in the European Chamber's Social Responsibility Awards. It is so helpful to be recognized in the community to bring more standing and interest to Tianming!
Migrant School in Nanjing
Located 20 minutes by car from NIS, the school has 450
primary age students. Their parents are not living in their home town so their children are not eligible for government funded school.
The school has few resources for the students and no heating. Jenine explained the complicated social issues with children of migrant parents.
Teaching basic English and exposure to foreigners will be the focus of Tian Ming visits. Speaking Chinese is not necessary. The program involves partnering foreign volunteers with Chinese friends who can translate. Training will be given before visits start. Rebecca shared a previous experience. On the initial visit, Tian Ming members were warmly welcomed by the principal and students.
Volunteers for this program would be greatly appreciated!
